A Taif Excursion from Jeddah offers an enchanting escape to the cool highlands of Saudi Arabia, where scenic beauty and cultural heritage come together. Located in the rugged mountains of the Hejaz, Taif is famous for its pleasant climate, lush gardens, and rose farms that perfume the air with their distinctive fragrance. On this tour, you'll wind through the mountain roads, visit vibrant markets, and explore the historic Shubra Palace. Known as the "City of Roses," Taif is also home to charming valleys, picturesque viewpoints, and ancient villages, making this excursion a refreshing retreat from the bustling coastal city of Jeddah.
Before the tour begins, you’ll be met by your driver/tour leader who will transfer you from your hotel in Jeddah to Taif. The tour will start with a visit to the Shubra Palace, the former residence of King Faisal in Taif’s city centre by Shubra Street (please note that you can currently only visit the palace from the outside due to renovation works).
Afterwards you’ll continue on to the tranquil Al Rudaf Park, home to music fountains, rock formations, playgrounds, and picnic areas, then Souq Okaz, the largest and most renowned Islamic open air market. Then you’ll explore Taif’s Heart Mall, the oldest and finest shopping centre in Taif, followed by a visit to the Al Shafa and Al Hada mountain regions. You’ll be hiking up the Al Shafa mountain, and the amazing views atop are so worth the climb. There’s also an option to purchase a cable car ticket up the Al Hada mountain, which takes you all the way to the mountain peak. After this you’ll be taken back to your hotel, though if you have any spare time and want to add on something to your itinerary, we would be happy to arrange this for you.
