Day 2: Exploring Jeddah
Your exploration of Jeddah begins with a visit to the scenic Jeddah Corniche and the bustling waterfront. Next, head to the Tayebat Museum, located in the Al Faisaliyah district. This museum offers a captivating journey through Jeddah’s 2,500-year history, with exhibits housed in a complex that mimics the traditional Hijazi architecture of the old city, featuring intricate wooden latticework and coral masonry.

After the museum, visit the House of Islamic Arts, a specialised museum showcasing over a thousand pieces of art spanning 15 centuries, from regions as diverse as China, India, the Maghreb, and Andalusia. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant where you can savour traditional Jeddah dishes.

In the evening, explore Al Balad, Jeddah's historic city centre. Founded in the 7th century, Al Balad is a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its unique architectural heritage, including buildings made from seashells and stone. Visit some of the ancient mosques, some of which have stood for over 300 years and continue to be functional.

Conclude the day at King Fahd's Fountain, the tallest of its kind in the world, which reaches heights of up to 260 meters (853 feet). This stunning landmark, visible throughout Jeddah, uses saltwater from the Red Sea and is illuminated by over 500 LED spotlights, creating a mesmerising sight, especially at night.
